This doctoral program (PhD) in molecular biology is an interdisciplinary degree offered by the Faculty of Medicine in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Delivered full-time on the Montreal campus, it comprises 90 credits following a thesis pathway, with a minimum length of six trimesters (two years) and a maximum of fifteen trimesters (five years), extendable by one additional year with permission. Students choose one of three options: general research, systems biology, or cellular and molecular medicine. By the end of the sixth semester, students must pass a comprehensive written and oral synthesis examination covering their field of study. Admission requires a faculty member to agree to direct the applicant's research project before an application is submitted, and the program concludes with the defence of a doctoral thesis.
