This Master's in History is a 45-credit graduate program offered in three options: Recherche (Research), preparing students for advanced historical research through a thesis; Histoire au collegial, preparing future CEGEP instructors through coursework paired with a mandatory teaching practicum; and Histoire en pratique, a professional-practice option that includes a mandatory workplace internship linking historical training to non-academic careers. All options combine specialized graduate seminars with a final research or practice-based project. Graduates find roles in museums, cultural agencies, media, publishing, and non-profit organizations, drawing on the analytical and research skills the program develops in addition to history-specific expertise. The program can be completed full-time or part-time, with day classes. Admission requires a bachelor's degree, two letters of recommendation, and a one-page letter of intent specifying the chosen option and outlining a research project; Research and Histoire au collegial applicants must have a faculty member agree to supervise their work before applying, and Histoire en pratique applicants must have a confirmed academic director. Entry is offered for the Winter and Fall terms.
