This Bachelor of Arts in Language Sciences (Baccalaureat en sciences du langage) at Universite du Quebec a Chicoutimi is a 90-credit program delivered on campus with admission in the fall term only. The program addresses linguistics and the applications of language across varied professional fields, covering French, English, and Indigenous languages. After a common core of foundational courses, students choose one of five concentrations: linguistics and technologies, speech-language pathology and audiology, languages and the humanities, professional writing and editing, or French as a second or foreign language. The curriculum combines theoretical linguistics with applied coursework suited to the chosen concentration, preparing graduates for further study or professional work in language-related fields such as education, editing, or clinical language sciences, depending on the concentration selected.
