This Bachelor's degree with a major in applied mathematics at Universite du Quebec a Chicoutimi is a 90-credit, on-campus program combining the major with a required 30-credit minor, offered with admission in fall and winter terms. The program aims to build mastery of the foundations of mathematical analysis, algebra, discrete mathematics, and optimization, together with probability, statistics, and the application of mathematics to computer science. Coursework totals 16 mandatory courses worth 48 credits, plus optional courses and the minor component. All applicants, regardless of admission base, must complete calculus and linear algebra courses before entering the program. Admission is open to DEC holders in science-related profiles with a minimum R-score of 25, to applicants with an appropriate diploma from outside Quebec with a minimum average of 14 on 20, to applicants who have completed at least 15 university credits with a cumulative average of at least 2.6 on 4.3, and to applicants with at least two years of relevant full-time experience in information technology. Admission Requirements: Admission follows UQAC's base system, with intake each fall and winter, offered full-time or part-time (part-time not open to international applicants). Quebec DEC holders qualify with a DEC in Natural Sciences, in Science/Computer Science/Mathematics, or in Science/Letters/Arts, or any DEC that satisfies the program's mathematics requirements, and a minimum R-score of 25 (applicants scoring 23-25 may be reviewed). Applicants from outside Quebec qualify with an appropriate science diploma obtained after at least 13 years of schooling and a minimum average of 14 on 20 (12-14/20 reviewed). University-route applicants need at least 15 completed university credits with a cumulative average of at least 2.6 on 4.3. Applicants may also qualify under the sufficient-preparation base with at least two years of full-time relevant experience in information technology, supported by a written employer attestation. All applicants, regardless of base, must complete Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, and Linear Algebra and Vector Geometry before entry, and non-French-speaking applicants must provide proof of French proficiency.
