Overview
This continuum program leads directly from an undergraduate degree to a 120-credit Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D.) in the research profile, training psychology researchers able to conduct independent research and to take on the varied roles of a professional researcher. It is offered full-time or part-time, with admission in the fall, winter and summer trimesters (application deadlines of August 1, December 1 and April 1 respectively). Quebec-based applicants need a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minimum cumulative average of 3.5 on 4.3; a propaedeutic year of preparatory study may be required by the program director. Applicants from outside Quebec need a master's degree, or a master 2 under the LMD system, in psychology with a minimum cumulative average of 13.5 on 20. Every application must include a letter of acceptance from a thesis supervisor, and a psychology department faculty member must sign the file for at least 25 percent of the required supervision.
