This PhD, offered by the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology in the Faculty of Education, prepares school psychologists to deliver educational and mental health services to children and adolescents from birth to age 21. The program follows a scientist-practitioner model in which research and clinical activities inform one another, with students using the McGill Psychoeducational and Counselling Clinic and the Departmental Assessment Materials Resource Centre. Coursework, clinical experience, field and community service, and research combine to build clinical skills through intensive assessment courses, a clinic practicum, a field placement, and a full-year internship. The program is accredited by the Order of Psychologists of Quebec and the Canadian Psychological Association. Admission requires an eligible bachelor's degree and proof of English-language proficiency. Fall is the only intake, with applications opening September 15 and a December 1 deadline for domestic and international applicants.
