Overview

This Bachelor of Arts in Political Science is a 90-credit, three-year full-time program examining political institutions from local to international scales and how political actors defend positions and exercise power. Students develop analytical tools for studying political phenomena and gain training in qualitative and quantitative research methods, applied through seminars and optional internships in Quebec and abroad. Graduates are prepared for roles in public administration, policy analysis, journalism, international organizations, and further graduate study in political science or law. The program admits applicants from Quebec CEGEPs, other Canadian provinces, and international backgrounds, with non-francophone applicants required to demonstrate French-language proficiency.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Quebec applicants need any DEC and a minimum college performance index (Cote R) of 22; applicants below this threshold may complete up to 12 credits of preparatory coursework in their first term. Applicants from outside Quebec need a secondary diploma plus one year of university studies, assessed on the quality of the academic record. International applicants need 13 years of pre-university education, or 12 years plus one year of post-secondary study, or a French general/technological baccalaureate, or a Belgian general upper-secondary certificate. Non-francophone applicants must demonstrate French-language proficiency through the TCF test.
