This PhD trains researchers in international affairs through an interdisciplinary programme combining two different fields of study, such as law, economics, political science, or management. Students undertake original research on topics including global politics, international economics, security, sustainable development, and regional dynamics, working under the joint supervision of faculty from two disciplines. The programme has an estimated full-time duration of four years and must be pursued full-time, though some courses are offered in the evening. Applicants typically hold a master's degree in international studies or international relations, or alternatively a bachelor's and master's degree in two different eligible disciplines. Before admission, candidates must secure written confirmation from two faculty supervisors in different disciplines, submit a five-page research proposal, and meet a minimum academic average. The doctoral thesis, evaluated through a public defence, is the core requirement for completion.
