This research-focused doctorate in psychology trains autonomous researchers through advanced training in fundamental or applied psychological research. Students specialize in one of four areas of expertise: behavioural neuroscience; experimental, cultural, social, or community psychology; health and developmental psychology; or cognitive science. The 90-credit program is completed on a full-time basis over an estimated four years and is built around an individual research project supervised by a faculty member, who must be secured before admission. Coursework, a comprehensive exam, and an original dissertation form the core of the training, preparing graduates for research careers in academic, clinical, and applied settings. Applicants must be fluent in French and demonstrate English comprehension. Admission is offered for the Fall, Winter, and Summer terms. Students may complete comprehensive exams and coursework alongside their dissertation research.
