Overview
This graduate diploma (DESS) develops the technical competencies required for Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) certification in Quebec. The 30-credit programme, offered by Universite Laval's Faculty of Business Administration, covers financial information, strategy and governance, management accounting, audit and certification, finance, and taxation, and is recognized as equivalent to the CPA Order's professional training programme. Up to 15 credits of prior learning can be recognized toward the diploma. Study can be completed full-time in about one year, with a flexible hybrid delivery combining monthly or biweekly in-class sessions with online coursework. The programme is designed for holders of a business degree with an accounting specialization, or an equivalent CPA-qualifying credential, who need the remaining technical courses to proceed toward CPA certification.

Admission Requirements: Applicants need a bachelor's degree in business administration with an accounting specialization, or an equivalent CPA-qualifying credential, with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on 4.33. College-level mathematics (calculus and linear algebra) is required. Non-francophone applicants must demonstrate French proficiency, normally a TCF score of at least 600/699 with at least 14/20 on the written component. A CV and letter of motivation are required with the application.
