This research-based Master of Science (M.Sc.) programme in wood and biosourced materials engineering develops advanced expertise in wood science and the industrial use of bio-based materials. Research areas include wood quality and mechanics, wood-based composites, timber processing and framing, wood chemistry, material durability, life-cycle analysis, product development, and the marketing of bio-based products. Students complete graduate coursework alongside an original research project under faculty supervision, culminating in a thesis. A research supervisor must be secured before applying. Instruction is delivered mainly in French, with some courses offered at a distance; reading knowledge of English is required. The programme has a nominal full-time duration of two years. Admission is offered for the Fall, Winter, and Summer terms. Graduates are prepared for research and technical roles in the forest-products and bio-based materials sector.
