Physics and astronomy- MSc - Thesis

Thesis-based Master of Science in Physics and Astronomy at the University of Calgary, aimed at students planning an academic career or seeking research experience in physics, astronomy, or radiation oncology. Students choose from six focus areas: astronomy and astrophysics, complexity, environmental and isotope physics, radiation oncology physics, quantum information and quantum/atomic/molecular optics, and space physics. The program requires four to eight courses depending on specialization, original research, and an open oral thesis defense, delivered on campus. Entry requires an honours BSc (or equivalent) in physics, engineering physics, astronomy/astrophysics, or a related field, with a minimum 3.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale over the past two years of full-time study. International applicants must submit a GRE Physics subject score, and all applicants need two references. Admission is for the September term, with a January 15 deadline for both domestic and international applicants. Full-time completion takes two years, with a four-year maximum, preparing graduates for doctoral study or research careers.
