Overview
The Graduate Certificate in Designing Smart and Secure Cities examines how communities can become more intelligent and more secure, drawing on expertise from within the University of Calgary and external practitioners. The program is delivered through blended learning and is normally completed in one calendar year. Graduates receive the Accredited SAFE Design Professional (ASDP) certification upon completion. Admission requires a four-year baccalaureate degree or equivalent from a recognized institution and a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale over the final two years of full-time study (at least 60 units). Applicants must submit transcripts, a CV, a statement of interest of up to 1,000 words, and three reference letters, and applicants whose first language is not English must also meet the university's English language proficiency requirement.
