This Master of Science in Physics at the University of Lethbridge combines thesis research with two to six graduate-level courses, selected in consultation with a faculty supervisor from the University's course catalogue and registrar's schedule. Students conduct original research leading to a thesis under the guidance of a supervisor in one of the department's areas of physics. The program runs full-time over 24 months or part-time over 48 months, with intake in the Summer, Fall, and Winter terms. Instruction is delivered in person on the Lethbridge campus, and an optional co-operative education component lets students combine graduate study with paid work terms. Applicants must secure a potential thesis supervisor before submitting an application, and can search available supervisors through the University's supervisor database. The degree provides research training suited to further doctoral study or technical careers requiring advanced physics knowledge and research skills.
