Overview

The Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) is a four-year business degree offered through the Asper School of Business, requiring 120 credit hours across core business courses, major courses, business options, and electives. Students select one of eleven majors: Accounting, Actuarial Mathematics (Business), Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship/Innovation, Finance, Generalist, Human Resources Management/Industrial Relations, Indigenous Business Studies, Marketing, Strategy and Global Management, or Supply Chain Management and Logistics. Classroom instruction is complemented by co-op placements, internships, case competitions, and international exchanges, including an exchange network connecting students with more than 60 partner business schools for credit-bearing study abroad. Students may also add a minor from another faculty. Admission is competitive; meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee a seat, though individual consideration is available for applicants facing extenuating circumstances. Delivered at the Fort Garry campus, the program suits students aiming for careers in finance, accounting, marketing, supply chain, technology, government, healthcare, agriculture, retail, or legal services, and provides a broad business foundation alongside the option to specialize.

Requirements

Minimum GPA: 85.00 / %
Admission Requirements: Admission is to the Asper School of Business's Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) program via three routes. Direct Entry from high school requires Manitoba high school graduation with five full Grade 12 credits (S, G, or U) and a minimum 85% average over Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S, English 40S, and two other 40S courses, with no less than 70% in each; admission is competitive and higher averages may be needed. Advanced Entry Track 1 (transfer, 24 credit hours) requires a set foundation course list (ECON 1010, ECON 1020, a math/stats course, a Written English course, GMGT 1010, plus electives) each with a minimum grade of C, and a minimum admission GPA (AGPA) of 2.0. Advanced Entry Track 2 (for applicants missing Track 1 courses) requires 24 credit hours with a minimum GPA of 3.1 and a C in each course. All entrants need Grade 12 Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S (or equivalent) at a minimum of 60%.
