The Master of Engineering at the University of Northern British Columbia is a course-based graduate program that allows engineering graduates to specialize in specific topics within civil engineering and environmental engineering. The program aims to prepare graduates for leadership roles in industry or for advanced technical positions. Students complete a minimum of 30 credit hours of graduate-level coursework to conclude the program. Unlike UNBC's thesis-based Master of Applied Science in Engineering, the MEng is coursework-only, without a thesis or major independent research component. International applicants must meet UNBC's graduate-level English proficiency requirement, accepting IELTS Academic (6.5 overall, no module below 6.0), TOEFL iBT (90, no section below 20), CAEL (70, no subtest below 60), PTE Academic (65, no section below 60), or the Duolingo English Test (125, no sub-score below 115). The credential awarded on completion is a Master of Engineering (MEng).
