Overview

This undergraduate program leads to an Honours Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Arts, offered in English and French. History examines the diverse and complex ways that individuals and groups have created and adjusted to change over time; students learn to interpret evidence of human thought and behaviour in order to understand the impact of individual and collective decision-making, the changing relationships among people and societies, and the relationship between humans and their environment. The 120-unit curriculum is organized into basic-skills courses, compulsory courses at the 1000 and 2000 levels, and optional and elective course units, completed over four years of full-time study. A cooperative education option and a French Immersion stream are available with this program.

Minimum GPA: 75.00 / %

Admission Requirements: For applicants presenting an Ontario high school diploma, the minimum requirement is English 4U (ENG4U) or Français 4U (FRA4U) among at least six 4U/4M or DU-level courses, and a minimum overall admission average of 75%; meeting this minimum does not guarantee admission.
