Master of Engineering Environmental Engineering

The Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering is offered through the Ottawa-Carleton Institute for Environmental Engineering (OCIENE), combining teaching and research from the University of Ottawa's Civil and Chemical Engineering departments with the equivalent departments at Carleton University. The program focuses on coursework and applied projects rather than thesis research, with research strengths in biofilms, drinking water treatment, ecological engineering, mining-impacted water management, and water resources management. The degree requires 30 course units in total, completed within two years of full-time study, with full-time and part-time registration options. The joint institute structure gives students access to laboratories and specialized courses across both partner universities.
