Program details
Overview
The Certificate in Health and Medical Humanities is an interdisciplinary program offered through the Faculty of Arts that examines how societies, past and present, construct and engage with health, wellness, illness, medicine, healing, and the body. It draws on disciplines across the humanities and social sciences to explore these themes from historical, cultural, and ethical perspectives. The certificate requires 15 credit hours (five courses) and is offered fully online, giving students the flexibility to complete it alongside other studies or commitments. Some courses in the certificate carry prerequisites, so an individual student's path may include additional preparatory coursework. It suits students in health-related, humanities, or social-science programs who want a focused credential in the social and cultural dimensions of health and medicine.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission follows the Faculty of Arts application process, with entrance requirements set according to applicant category (high school student, transfer student, CEGEP student, current University of Regina student, home-based learner, IB diploma student, or mature student); some courses within the certificate have prerequisites, which may add courses to an individual student's path.
