Overview
The Master of Education in Teaching, Learning and Leadership at the University of Regina's Faculty of Education is a two-year program offered in four structures: thesis-based, which introduces scholarly activity and independent original research; project-based, which applies theory to a limited-scope field project; practicum-based, which emphasizes practical field experience; and course-based, consisting of ten courses. Courses are available in English, French, or a combination of both, with expanded blended and fully online options that let domestic students study part-time while working. Within the program, students can focus on areas such as educational leadership, anti-oppressive education, arts education, early childhood education, educational technology, literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, or English as an additional language. Classes are kept small, with no more than 18 students in a face-to-face course. The program targets practising school administrators and those preparing for a career in educational administration, with at least two years of teaching or relevant professional experience preferred for admission. Graduates pursue roles such as principal, curriculum developer, superintendent, and post-secondary faculty member.
Requirements

Admission Requirements: The Master of Education in Teaching, Learning and Leadership requires a four-year degree applicable to the program, normally a B.Ed., B.A.Ed., or equivalent, with a minimum grade point average of 70%; at least two years of teaching or other relevant professional experience is preferred. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission, which is also subject to space. Holders of a Saskatchewan Professional 'A' Teaching Certificate with an approved bachelor's degree may use the completed degree to reclassify with their school board. The page states no program-specific English-proficiency figures and refers applicants to the graduate calendar, so the general Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (FGSR) standard applies: CAEL 70, IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, PTE Academic 59, or Duolingo English Test 125 overall.
Application Details
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants to the University of Regina apply for Fall 2027 entry with a recommended early deadline of 15 March 2027 for best course selection and a final new-applicant deadline of 15 August 2027; Winter 2027-28 entry has an early deadline of 1 November 2026 and a final deadline of 15 December 2026, and Spring/Summer 2027 entry closes 15 April 2027. International (study-permit) applicants share the same final deadlines as domestic students for each term but have no separate early deadline. Numerous named programs, including Nursing, Social Work, Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work, Indigenous Fine Arts and Indigenous Education, carry their own earlier deadlines instead of the general dates. Admission is not described as rolling; late non-competitive applications are simply carried to the next term the program accepts. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
