BA/BS in Drama is a bachelor's degree in Performing Arts programme offered by University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada. The programme runs for 4 years. Tuition for international students is CAD 39,007 per year (CAD 8,059 per year for local students).
This Drama program explores the evolution of theatre and the practice of acting, directing, stage management, playwriting, costume design, lighting, and sound production. Five degree pathways are available: three-year and four-year Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Arts Double Honours, and Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours streams in Acting and in Design, with students consulting advisors to choose a track early in their studies. The program is based at the main Saskatoon campus, in a School for the Arts building with purpose-built facilities including studios with sprung floors, a costume lab, and the Greystone Theatre, though students can begin their studies off-campus through flexible learning. Direct entry from high school is available. Coursework combines theory with practical production experience, including a minimum of 50 hours of mandatory production work required in stage management courses, and the department mounts four mainstage productions each year, giving students hands-on experience with lighting, sound, and set construction. The program suits students pursuing theatrical careers in acting, directing, or design, as well as those seeking transferable skills for teaching, media, public relations, or project management roles.
