The Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Saskatchewan prepares students for registration as a nurse after passing the national licensing examination. Admission Requirements: Admission to Years 2 through 4 of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing is competitive and follows completion of a pre-professional year; entry is not available directly from high school. Ten pre-professional courses must normally be completed by April 30, and an applicant may carry a deficiency in one of them into the program. The College of Nursing requires a minimum average of 60% across the pre-professional classes to be eligible for consideration, though the average actually needed for an offer is typically higher because places are limited and ranked competitively; all applicants also complete the Casper situational-judgement test. English proficiency here is stricter than the university's general standard: IELTS Academic 7.0 overall with at least 6.0 in Reading and Listening and 7.0/6.0 in Speaking/Writing, TOEFL iBT 4.5 overall on the new scale (minimum 4.0 Reading/Writing, 4.5 Listening, 5.0 Speaking; equivalent to 90 overall with 20 Reading, 22 Listening, 26 Speaking and 20 Writing on the former 120-point scale, accepted for up to two years), or CAEL 70 overall with a minimum of 60 in Reading/Listening/Writing and 70 in Speaking.
