Overview
The Bachelor of Integrated Studies Degree is a blend of professional and academic training, interdisciplinary studies, and applied and practical experiences. The BIS is designed to support students with prior academic and/or professional training and experience who want to attain a credential for professional and educational advancement. You'll develop competency in six core areas and complete foundational study in written communications and statistics. You'll also carry out advanced academic coursework in multiple disciplines as well as portfolio and career learning.

Admission Requirements: UFV's Bachelor of Integrated Studies sets three entrance options in its own Calendar entry. From B.C. secondary school: graduation or equivalent, English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12 at C+, plus a B average across two further approved Grade 12 courses (out-of-country applicants need the ENGL 105/CMNS 125 prerequisites and an equivalent B average in two Grade 12 subjects); an IB diploma, B.C. Graduation diploma, or GED certificate can substitute for secondary graduation. Without that credential, applicants need the equivalent of English Studies 12 at C+ plus one of: 30 university-level credits at a 2.00 CGPA, 9 transferable credits at a 3.00 CGPA, a UFV diploma or B.C. Associate degree at a 2.00 CGPA, or a two-year vocational diploma at a 2.50 CGPA. A third, non-traditional route admits applicants with five or more years of workforce experience who hold secondary graduation, meet the ENGL 105 prerequisite, and submit a written statement of interest. The Calendar entry states no standardized English-language test score.

Start Date:Three entry points a year - Fall (September to December), Winter (January to April) and Summer (May to August, run as two sessions of May-June and July-August). UFV's programme list shows this one admitting for all three.
Application Deadline:UFV publishes no closing date of its own for this programme - the Calendar entry points applicants at the institution-wide schedule instead of naming a deadline, so what follows is that schedule. DOMESTIC APPLICANTS: applications open 1 October for the Fall (September) intake, 1 May for the Winter (January) intake and 1 October for the Summer (May) intake. Apply as soon after the opening date as you can: UFV admits many programmes in application-date order, and it records that date only once the application, the fee and every document listed in the programme's Calendar entry have arrived. Grade 12 students may apply from 1 October of their graduating year and must send final grades with proof of graduation by 3 August. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS: this programme accepts international students. UFV International runs its own windows - 1 October to 31 May for Fall, 1 May to 31 October for Winter, 1 October to 1 March for Summer - and confirms acceptances in the order applications arrive, so a programme can close early once it fills. Allow up to six weeks for a decision, and pay the tuition that confirms an offer by 1 May for Fall, 1 October for Winter or 15 February for Summer.
