The Doctor of Philosophy in Aerospace Science and Engineering is offered by the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies (UTIAS). It is a research-based program culminating in a doctoral thesis, with faculty research spanning aircraft flight systems and control, computational fluid dynamics, combustion and propulsion, structural mechanics, advanced composite materials, spacecraft dynamics and control, and autonomous space robotics. The standard entry route from a relevant master's degree runs four years full-time and is delivered in person; direct entry from a bachelor's degree is also available for applicants with a strong academic record.
