Biotechnology (MBiotech) is an interdisciplinary, course-based professional master's degree offered through the Institute for Management & Innovation at the University of Toronto Mississauga, combining science and business coursework with 8 to 12 months of paid work-integrated experience in industry. The program offers two fields, Biopharmaceutical and Digital Health Technologies, and requires 9.5 full-course equivalents over 24 months: 4.5 FCEs in core MBiotech courses (including a seminar course and work-term placements), 3.5 FCEs in field-specific coursework, and 1.5 FCEs of electives drawn from further MBiotech, IMI, or other approved graduate courses. An ongoing seminar series led by university, industry, and government specialists connects students with the academic, practical, and applied aspects of the field. The program is delivered in person and runs full-time over six sessions spanning two years.
