Overview
The Master of Science in Sustainability Management (MScSM) at the University of Toronto trains graduates to integrate knowledge from management, and the social and natural sciences, to address sustainability issues, offering a strong foundation in sustainability management alongside the option to specialize in a management or a science concentration. The program is designed for students from diverse academic backgrounds, including management science, social science, natural science, and engineering, and was developed in consultation with business, non-profit, research, and government organizations. Full-time students complete the degree over a two-year period spanning five sessions, delivered in person, and totalling 9.5 full-course equivalents: 9.0 full-course equivalents of coursework plus a 0.5 full-course equivalent internship component. Admission requires a minimum mid-B average, equivalent to 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, for both domestic and international applicants; international applicants must also demonstrate English proficiency through IELTS or TOEFL. Combined-degree options are available with the Honours Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Management and the Honours Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science.
