Overview
UBC Sauder's Professional MBA, delivered through the Robert H. Lee Graduate School, is designed for working professionals who want an MBA without stepping away from their careers. Over 24 months, students work on identifying their leadership style, understanding how organizations function from the inside and building strategic thinking. Two streams are offered: the in-person stream meets on the Vancouver campus every second or third weekend with each course taught across six weeks, while the online stream meets twice a week on weekday evenings with courses taught across five weeks. Both streams share three mandatory in-person residencies, each an intensive eight-day course, held at the start, midpoint and end of the degree. The program is entirely course-based, and admission is handled by the Sauder School of Business rather than the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

Admission Requirements: The Professional MBA is administered by the Sauder School of Business rather than UBC's Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, and its own admissions page sets the requirements. Applicants need a three- or four-year bachelor's degree with a minimum B+ average (76% or recognized equivalent); those already holding an MBA are not eligible to apply. A minimum of two years of full-time work experience after graduation is required, with 7 or more years considered competitive. The GMAT or GRE is required (scores valid five years): a new-format GMAT of 515 or better with at least the 50th percentile in every section, a legacy GMAT of 550 or better with at least the 50th percentile in Quantitative and Verbal, or a GRE of 155 or better on both the Verbal and Quantitative sections; competitive scores run higher (legacy GMAT 650+, GMAT Focus 605+, GRE combined 320+). Applicants whose degree was taught in a language other than English outside Canada or the USA must also meet an English-proficiency minimum, valid for two years: TOEFL 100 (0-120 scale) or 5.0 (1-6 scale), IELTS Academic 7.0 overall, PTE Academic 70, CAEL 70 overall, or Duolingo 130. Two professional references, an essay/resume package and an interview are also required to assess motivation and leadership potential.

Application Deadline:Domestic and international undergraduate applicants both apply through EducationPlannerBC for Winter Session 2027/28 (September 2027 entry) and Summer 2027: applications open in early October 2026 and the equal-consideration deadline is 15 January 2027, 11:59 p.m. PST, the same date for both groups; a few programs keep reviewing late applications on a space-available basis afterwards. Earlier dates apply only to entrance-award consideration -- 15 November 2026 for the International Scholars Program and 1 December 2026 for Presidential/Centennial/Beyond Tomorrow scholars. Several limited-entry programmes -- Law, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing (advanced entry), Occupational/Physical Therapy, Social Work and Teacher Education -- set their own earlier deadlines from October 2026 through February 2027. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
