Overview
The Diploma in Business Administration is a broad practical credential aimed at working professionals and graduates from non-business fields who want the management knowledge to move into leadership roles. Students complete nine required courses covering business administration, business writing, finance, financial accounting, interpersonal business communication, marketing, organizational behaviour, strategic leadership and strategic management, then choose five electives from more than forty options including business law, data analytics, human resource management, operations management, negotiation skills and project management. The curriculum runs from accounting and marketing through ethics, cross-cultural and international business perspectives. Delivery is blended, mixing online and face-to-face classes with flexible scheduling, and the diploma takes about two years full-time or four years part-time.

Admission Requirements: To qualify for the Diploma in Business Administration, applicants must provide a transcript showing at least high-school completion; mature applicants who lack this may instead be considered on the basis of a minimum five years of work experience, supported by a resume, and two years of professional full-time work experience (or the post-secondary equivalent) is recommended for all applicants. If English is not the applicant's first language, the program requires an accepted official proficiency-exam score or proof of prior education completed in English, per UVic Continuing Studies' Direct Entry and Conditional Admission standard: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no sub-score below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 79 with no section below 17, or Duolingo English Test 110; scores must be less than two years old.
