The Local Government Management Diploma build your skillset and advance your career in the Diploma in Local Government Management program (LGM). The LGM Diploma consists of 10 courses (15 units of study). Delivered entirely online, you can keep up with other commitments while completing flexible, relevant professional development.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: The Local Government Management Diploma is administered by the School of Public Administration for people already working, or seeking to work, in local government. The program's admission page asks for the equivalent of two years of post-secondary education plus three years of experience in the public sector, or comparable experience in public or non-profit organizations; applicants without formal post-secondary education may still be admitted conditionally on the strength of sufficient professional experience. No minimum GPA, prerequisite course or English-language test score is set on the page. New applicants apply through UVic's undergraduate application system with a resume and a 500-word cover letter addressed to the director of the School of Public Administration describing their interest and career goals, plus official transcripts; returning UVic students instead apply for re-registration with an updated resume and cover letter.
