Entrepreneurship and Organization at the University of Waterloo leads to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) delivered through Waterloo's innovation ecosystem and applies entrepreneurial perspectives to research in organizational behaviour. Students complete intensive coursework, comprehensive examinations, a thesis proposal, and independent dissertation research, developing expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. The program admits candidates from Business, Management, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, and related social science backgrounds, normally following a graduate degree in one of these fields. Exceptional candidates with a strong four-year honours degree and research experience may be considered for direct entry. The program is offered full-time and on-campus, with a single intake each fall.

Admission Requirements: Applicants normally hold a graduate degree in Business, Management, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, or a related social science field, with a minimum overall average of 75% or equivalent. Exceptional candidates with a strong four-year honours degree and research experience may apply for direct entry. A GMAT or GRE score completed within the past five years is required. Applicants whose prior education was not in English must present TOEFL iBT 5 overall (writing and speaking 5 each) or IELTS Academic 7.5 overall (writing and speaking 7.0 each).
