Overview
This research-based Master of Mathematics (MMath) program in Applied Mathematics combines coursework with a research project in a multidisciplinary environment. Students may focus on one of five specialized areas: control theory, fluid mechanics, mathematical medicine and biology, mathematical physics, or scientific computation. Admission requires a four-year honours bachelor's degree with a specialization in mathematics, or in science or engineering with a strong concentration in mathematics, together with an overall average of at least 78% (or its equivalent) in undergraduate work. The program is offered full-time or part-time and is delivered on-campus, with a nominal full-time length of 24 months. Graduates are prepared for PhD studies or for careers in academia, government, or industry. Students are admitted in the Fall, Winter, and Spring terms.
