Overview
Computational Mathematics is an interdisciplinary Master of Mathematics (MMath) program offered by the Department of Computational Mathematics in the Faculty of Mathematics. It combines and unifies techniques from mathematics, statistics, and computer science to address problems that require numerical and computational approaches. The program is research-based, pairing graduate coursework with a supervised research thesis in an area of computational mathematics. Students with strong quantitative backgrounds in fields such as commerce, economics, engineering, finance, or the physical sciences may also be considered for admission, in addition to those holding mathematics, statistics, or computer science degrees. The program is delivered on campus and completed full-time over 12 months, with admission offered in the fall term. Graduates are prepared for further doctoral study or for technical careers drawing on advanced mathematical and computational skills.
