This Master of Mathematics in Pure Mathematics (Quantum Information) is a research-based degree offered jointly by the Department of Pure Mathematics and the Institute for Quantum Computing. It combines training in pure mathematics with quantum information science, giving students a broad foundation in the field through advanced coursework and research projects at the boundary of mathematics and quantum computing. Students choose between a thesis or a master's research paper to complete the degree. The programme is delivered full-time on-campus over 12 months, with a single Fall (September) intake. Graduates are prepared to pursue further research at the PhD level, or to move into careers in the computer industry, teaching, or business, particularly in finance-related roles, drawing on combined mathematical and quantum information expertise built through the programme.
