Admission Requirements: This Doctor of Pharmacy program admits from prior university study rather than directly from high school: applicants must complete at least two years of university-level science, including Cell Biology (BIOL 130), Genetics (BIOL 239), Microbiology (BIOL 240), General Chemistry 1 and 2 (CHEM 120 or 121, and 123 or 125), Biochemistry (CHEM 237), Organic Chemistry 1 (CHEM 266), three science labs, Calculus 1 (MATH 127), Statistics (STAT 202), one English course, and two Social Sciences and Humanities courses, with a minimum overall university average of 75%. The application also requires the Admission Information Form, a reference letter, the CASPer online assessment, and an interview. High school students may instead apply for Conditional Admission to Pharmacy (CAP), a conditional offer to enter after two years of prior study at Waterloo, with Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or Honours Science named as the fastest routes in. Neither pharmacy page states its own English score, so Waterloo's general requirement applies to applicants whose last four years of education were not in Canada or at English-language schools: IELTS 6.5 overall (6.5 writing/speaking, 6.0 reading/listening), TOEFL iBT 90 overall with 25 writing/speaking before 21 January 2026 (4.5 overall with 5 writing/speaking from that date), PTE Academic 63, Duolingo 120, or Cambridge C1/C2 180.
