Overview
Disability Studies is a four-year Honours Bachelor's program at the University of Windsor that examines disability through the lens of accessibility and social justice, grounded in the lived experiences of people with disabilities. The curriculum draws on disability theory, policy and advocacy to help students understand disability as a social and political issue rather than only a medical or individual condition. Students engage in community placements that connect classroom theory to real-world practice, working alongside community organizations and people with disabilities to apply what they learn. The program prepares graduates to contribute to more inclusive institutions, workplaces and communities, and provides a foundation for further study or careers in social services, advocacy, policy, education and related helping professions. It can be combined with other subjects as part of a Combined Honours degree.
