Dramatic Art / Concurrent Education is a four-year program at the University of Windsor that combines a Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Art with a Bachelor of Education, preparing graduates to teach drama in Ontario at the Grades 7 to 12 level. Students complete studio-based training in theatre alongside coursework in education and pedagogy, using drama as both an academic subject and a vehicle for teaching and learning. A practicum component gives candidates a minimum of 80 days of practice teaching experience in local schools, working directly with students under the supervision of experienced teachers. The concurrent structure allows students to complete both the arts and education credentials, along with teaching certification requirements, within four years rather than pursuing them separately. Admission is offered only at the first-year, direct-entry-from-high-school level. Graduates become eligible for certification with the Ontario College of Teachers to teach drama in Ontario secondary schools.
