Film Production is a four-year Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Windsor focused on scripted and documentary filmmaking. Students study concept development, screenwriting, producing, directing, cinematography, sound and editing through a hands-on, studio-based curriculum, with more than 60 percent of course time spent in studio production. Each student creates one short film per academic year, building a portfolio of original work across the program that spans multiple genres and production roles. The curriculum develops artistic, technical and professional workplace skills alongside storytelling craft, combining practical production experience with critical study of film form and history. Graduates are prepared for careers in film and video production and other roles across the screen and creative-media industries, or further study in filmmaking.
