French Studies / Concurrent Education combines a Bachelor of Arts in French with a Bachelor of Education at the University of Windsor, completed as a General 3-Year program. Students study French language and francophone literature and culture, taught by French-language faculty in small classes, alongside teacher-education coursework that includes roughly 80 days of in-school teaching experience in local schools. The program integrates language and literary study with pedagogy and classroom practice, preparing graduates to teach French while completing a full French degree in a shorter timeframe than pursuing the two credentials separately. Admission is to first year only, directly from secondary school. Graduates are positioned for careers as French-language teachers, as well as roles that draw on bilingual communication skills outside the classroom.
