The University Transfer Science certificate provides a broad understanding of problems related to mathematics and science at the 1st year level, understand and produce oral presentations and written materials, learn how to apply theoretical knowledge and technical skills in solving problems, and use scientific educational experiences as a solid foundation for academic readiness in 2nd year science.

Admission Requirements: This University Transfer certificate requires Grade 12 graduation, or equivalent. English is met through English 12 with a minimum 'C+' grade, or through VCC's English Language Proficiency standard at an equivalent English 12 'C+' level; the programme page names no specific IELTS, TOEFL or other standardized score, so applicants should confirm current test routes with VCC's own English Language Proficiency requirements. Mathematics is met through Pre-Calculus 12 at a minimum 'B', or equivalent, and post-secondary courses may substitute for the high-school prerequisites. Individual courses within the certificate carry their own prerequisites, for example Chemistry 12 before Chemistry 1121. Applicants should have strong oral and written English, analytical and critical-thinking skills, and basic word-processing and computer skills.
