Anthropology: Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA)

Admission Requirements: The Anthropology BA page does not list its own prerequisite courses or a minimum admission average, deferring instead to VIU's general admission requirements for the Bachelor of Arts. That general route admits an applicant who graduated a BC secondary school (or accepted equivalent) with at least a "C" in English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12, holds a prior degree, enters with a Letter of Permission, transfers in with 24-plus university-level credits, or qualifies under the academic mature-student category at 21 or older; the programme page states "Testing Required: No" and publishes no IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo or CAEL score. The Anthropology Honours option, a separate later admission rather than the base BA entry point, requires a minimum 3.33 ("B+") grade point average on the most recent 60 credits and a minimum grade of "B" in ANTH 491 and ANTH 492.
