Honours Specialization in French Studies is an undergraduate program in Western University's Faculty of Arts and Humanities, leading to an Honours Bachelor's degree. The module totals 10.0 courses conducted in French, including a course selected from upper-intermediate French offerings, a course from advanced French offerings, a course drawn from language, linguistics, or civilization options, three courses from a range of upper-level literature and culture offerings, an additional course at the 2300 level or above, and three further courses at the 3300 level or above. The curriculum develops advanced French-language proficiency alongside the study of Francophone literature, linguistics, and culture, preparing graduates for further study or careers in fields such as translation, education, and international relations.
