Overview
The Certificat de français pratique (Certificate in Practical French) is offered by Western University's Department of French Studies. Students complete 4.0 courses, at least 3.0 of which must be taken at Western, and must maintain a minimum average of 60% in the required courses to progress and graduate. Admission requires completion of first-year requirements, including French 1900E, French 1910, or French 1999 with a mark of at least 60%, or permission of the department based on a placement test with a required score of 70% or above. Students may not pursue both the Certificat de français pratique and either a French module or the former Certificat de français des affaires.
