The Master of Arts in French Studies at Western University is offered through the Department of French Studies, with research strengths in linguistics and literature. The programme is completed full-time over three terms, roughly one year, through either a project-based or a thesis-based route. Students take graduate coursework in French language, literature and culture, developing advanced research and communication skills, and complete a culminating research project or thesis under faculty supervision, within a focus on socially and intellectually engaged scholarship. Admission requires an Honours BA or equivalent degree with a major or specialization in French, together with a minimum 78 percent (B+) average over the final two years of undergraduate study.
