Overview
The Master of Science in Geophysics at Western University equips students with advanced skills in geophysical theory, data analysis and field techniques across research fields including Earth and planetary systems, Earth evolution, resource geoscience and tectonic processes. The programme offers three pathways: course-based, project-based and thesis-based, each full-time only. Applicants require a four-year degree in science, engineering, mathematics, computer science, geography or a related discipline. The course-based pathway requires a minimum 75 percent average over the final two years of the bachelor's degree, while the thesis-based pathway requires a minimum 70 percent average, with 78 percent needed to qualify for departmental funding. Applications require transcripts, a CV or résumé, a statement of intent, and contact details for three referees. The application deadline is January 24 for a September 1 start, with the thesis-based route also permitting a May 1 start.
