Multidisciplinary Studies (BA)

The Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University allows students to design an individualized program of study by combining courses across departments to match their own academic interests and career goals, rather than following a single fixed major. Students select courses from across the Faculty of Arts and other faculties, building a customized combination of minors and electives with support from an academic advisor. The program culminates in AF495: Multidisciplinary Capstone Experience, a variable-content seminar that gives students an integrative learning experience connecting the different areas they have studied. The four-year Honours program is offered through Laurier's Waterloo and Brantford campuses, and can be completed on campus or online, with students attending some classes in person and participating in others online. Students may apply credits toward a minor or explore multiple subject areas without formally declaring a single specialization. The flexible structure suits students pursuing interdisciplinary interests or preparing for graduate study, professional programs or careers that draw on more than one discipline.
