The PhD in Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University follows a mentorship model, in which faculty members work closely with a small cohort of students on original dissertation research. Students specialize in one of four areas: cognitive and behavioural neurosciences, community psychology, developmental psychology, or social psychology. Admission requires a master's degree in psychology or a related field, with a minimum A- standing; proficiency in written and spoken English is required for admission, and applicants whose prior instruction was not in English must submit evidence through an accepted testing service. The program is delivered full-time and in person, with students admitted for the Fall term. Graduates are prepared for research and academic careers, as well as advanced practice roles across the program's areas of specialization.
