Electrical Engineering and Information Technology is a six-semester Bachelor of Science taught in German at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. The early semesters teach theoretical and practical foundations, after which students shape their own focus.
Elective areas include automation technology, medical engineering, microelectronics and sustainable energy generation. The guiding questions cover shaping the energy transition, controlling technical systems, packing electronic components onto tiny areas, sensors for future mobility and the secure handling of information.
A three-month industrial or research internship belongs to the degree, and laboratory courses run in every semester. A preparatory course is recommended. Graduates work in research, product development, technical sales or their own start-ups.
Further details on enrolment are available separately for German and international applicants, and the semester contribution is explained on a dedicated university page. Students can turn to the study advisory service of the department with questions about content and admission.
