BA/BS in Angewandte Informatik

Applied Computer Science is a six-semester Bachelor of Science at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, offered in German and English, with start in the winter semester. It focuses on using computing methods in other fields and on working with people from other disciplines. The topics include how voice assistants understand speech, how websites react dynamically to user input, how autonomous driving works, what tasks robots can do, how humans and machines can work together well, how software projects are planned and controlled and how real viruses can be fought with computational methods. Admission is open (zulassungsfrei). Further details on enrolment are available separately for German and international applicants, and the semester contribution is explained on a dedicated university page. Students can turn to the study advisory service of the department with questions about content and admission.
