The Post Graduate Diploma in Leadership (Operational & Strategic) is a Level 7 qualification taught part time over two years at The Guernsey Institute, with starts arranged on demand. It is relevant to anyone whose role involves managing and leading staff, teams or whole organisations.
Students complete four modules of 30 credits each, all tied to leading and developing services. One of the four may be studied at Level 6, while the other three are taken at Level 7. The aim is to develop professional expertise and political awareness so that students can contribute to operational and strategic development in a leadership setting.
Applicants must be employed in an organisational workplace, because the assessments are based there. Earlier learning may count towards up to 60 credits, and the programme lead can explain how that works.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: A relevant first degree at 2:2 or higher is the usual entry route. Applicants without one may be considered if their experience shows equivalent graduate-level skills. International applicants must show English competence through IELTS 6.5 with at least 6.0 in every component, or an equivalent. Students must be employed in an organisational workplace to complete the assessments. Prior learning can be recognised for up to 60 credits.
