Overview

Government Accounting Level 1, Module 1 opens a six-module certificate sequence from the Management Institute for National Development aimed at people working within, or wanting to understand, government financial management. Over two weeks of daily online classes, the module sets out how government itself is structured, which institutions keep it running, and how that machinery connects to financial management in practice. It also looks at the link between an accounts unit and the human resources function, and walks through how a budget cycle is actually prepared, giving participants a sense of where accounting decisions sit inside the bigger administrative picture. A MIND Certificate of Achievement is awarded only once all six modules in Level 1 have been completed, so this module is a building block rather than a stand-alone qualification.
